Old box Chinese characters

Can anyone help? I have been asked to try and translate this by a friend who knows nothing about chinese but knows I am learning so thinks I should be able read this.

 

As it is traditional characters and a bit faded I am struggling to read it.

I don't understand the deep meaning though.

Thank you, that helps because at least now I know where to start , literally.   I wasn't sure what the first character was and which direction it goes in. I might be able to get some where.

 

It is the label on a box, I asked what was in the box as this might help, but they haven't opened it!! So I suggested they did, it might shed some light on what the writing says, when they tell me what is in the box I will post that info.

Always store charcaters and numbers have 2 parts please.

 

To know the old shop opposite the tall wall as

 

To remember at Fu Sheng Yang Bridge Lane.

 

 

Meaning maybe:

 

Always store spread out in a leather suitcase by colour

 

Always store characters and numbers separately please.

 

The old shop opposite the tall wall known as Fu Sheng Yang bridge lane.

 

 

Fu Sheng could be a form of Fu Jian Sheng provience?? and the lane is called Yang bridge lane??

 

I am trying really hard to understand this, if I have got it all wrong please be gentle

Just information about the store and its product. Written without punctuation, which is common in older Chinese writings and was the norm for classical Chinese.

When you say older, does it give any clue as to how old? or is it impossible to say?

 

At the bottom of the writing there is something written in a ribbon style, does this contain anything readable?

By older I mean traditional, may be more than fifty years ago?  Of course some old stores may have survive up to today.

 

 

The bottom ribbon says 貨真價實 - "authentic goods, honest price", which is commonly used up to this day.

Sorry, I thought your question on "older" was about the store.  What I meant was up to around fifty years ago (my guess) some stores might still print such info on their boxes.

As you might expect, Fu Sheng is shorthand for Fujian Province, and Yang Qiao Xiang is -- or was -- an area in Fuzhou City.

I also can't imagine an ad like this appearing much after 1949, so I think it's fair to say it's Min Guo.
