vellocet Posted April 19, 2016 at 09:19 AM Author Report Posted April 19, 2016 at 09:19 AM I've never heard of an automated collection system. What is it? The times they kept it at the kuaidi office were a nightmare. First off, good luck finding the place. Second, once you know one company's office it means nothing because there are a dozen kuaidi companies and who knows where they all are. Next, they have to find your package, which could take a while. I've never heard of a convenience store accepting parcels. Is this a regional thing? Quote
spiff Posted April 20, 2016 at 07:36 AM Report Posted April 20, 2016 at 07:36 AM The automated systems are sets of lockers: the delivery guy puts your parcel in a locker, then you get a text with a code. You go and put in the code, maybe pay a fee (1块 per day it's been in there after the first day), and the locker pops open. Very convenient but doesn't work for very large things, you probably won't have them in older apartment complexes, and (at least in my experience) delivery companies sometimes/often refuse to use them. Maybe their company has to pay a fee as well. I agree that using the actual offices of the delivery companies is a disorganised mess. Don't know if using small shops is just a regional thing, would be interested in hearing if others do this as well. Quote
