Leiya Posted March 7, 2016 at 02:07 AM Report Posted March 7, 2016 at 02:07 AM One of the best romantic films that I have seen is based on a Comic book by Jimmy Liao. It was suggested to me by my Filipino-Chinese friend. TURN LEFT TURN RIGHT Here is the trailer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEA7J0FZqwk Quote
Xiao Kui Posted March 8, 2016 at 08:27 AM Report Posted March 8, 2016 at 08:27 AM I saw that movie, too - it was cute. I really like Jimmy's books - remind me of Shel Silverstein a little At one point I wanted to collect his books, but they are pricey and he is prolific, so I decided I would have to settle for flipping through them in the bookstore. (i bet there is plenty online, but I haven't taken the time to search for it yet. ) Quote
Leiya Posted March 9, 2016 at 12:06 PM Author Report Posted March 9, 2016 at 12:06 PM Yup I liked it better than Starry Starry Night... another film based on Jimmy Liao's books is the Sound of Colors which is good too! Ranking... No.1 for me is turn left, turn right, second is the Sound of Colors and last is Starry Starry 1 Quote
Xiao Kui Posted March 9, 2016 at 12:32 PM Report Posted March 9, 2016 at 12:32 PM i don't really keep up with Chinese movies (mostly a reader) so I wasn't aware that there were other film adaptations of his work - i'll have to check them out Quote
Leiya Posted March 10, 2016 at 06:34 AM Author Report Posted March 10, 2016 at 06:34 AM yup! better check them out... Im still looking for good Chinese movies just like how Korean movies are made... somehow believable. I always see wuxia films. Lots of flying and of course tons of Kung Fu. I have seen period films also. Quote
