Lu Posted March 9, 2016 at 05:00 PM Report Posted March 9, 2016 at 05:00 PM Preparing for an interpretation assignment, and there's a sentence I don't quite understand. This is on rules for registration and control of chemical substances. 在法規執行面下,除了完備的制度規劃,市場稽查及邊境管制是相當重要的。 Specifically, what is 市场稽查? The internet seems to say 'market control', but I don't know what that would actually entail (and if the translation is correct, it might be Chinglish). And a second one: 提報案件審查方面,是統一由[big international organisation]指定窗口接收,還是荷蘭當地也有獨立的審查機構可閱讀相關報告呢? Does 提报 mean 'registration' here, like, a company reporting which chemical substances they have/use/produce? Or is it more 'reporting of possible bad stuff someone else is doing'? Thanks for any help! Quote
陳德聰 Posted March 9, 2016 at 08:08 PM Report Posted March 9, 2016 at 08:08 PM I can't really answer your first question with confidence, but it draws an image of inspection to ensure that people are following the rules/regulations. As for the second one my initial reaction was that it was making incident reports but I don't understand why that would have to be 审查. Sorry not really much help just my musings haha. Quote
gato Posted March 10, 2016 at 01:09 AM Report Posted March 10, 2016 at 01:09 AM Yes, 稽查 = inspection 提报 appears to mean report. See here: http://www.bing.com/knows/search?q=提报&mkt=zh-cn Quote

hhjk9901 Posted March 16, 2016 at 06:04 AM Report Posted March 16, 2016 at 06:04 AM The second word is a nature abbreviation of two synonymous words. 提 = 提供 = 报(報) = 报告(報告) = provide/report Quote
