twinmatrix Posted March 10, 2016 at 08:36 AM Report Posted March 10, 2016 at 08:36 AM Does anyone have any tips for finding really cheap flights to China? Maybe there are some websites or methods I am not aware of. I regularly keep an eye out for them on skyscanner and cheaptickets.nl but I never see any "cheap flights". The cheapest I've seen is just 450 EUR (Netherlands -> Chongqing). Of course, it depends where you're flying on, but I'm wondering if anyone can give some general advice. Quote
abcdefg Posted March 10, 2016 at 01:49 PM Report Posted March 10, 2016 at 01:49 PM Finding inexpensive fares is country specific; depends on where you are flying from. If you are starting out in the Netherlands, I don't have any suggestions. One piece of general advice I usually give people flying from the US to China is to check several "gateway cities" on each end. Quote
Angelina Posted March 10, 2016 at 02:58 PM Report Posted March 10, 2016 at 02:58 PM Aeroflot is cheap, you can find a cheap ticket and pay for it on their website. Quote
langxia Posted March 10, 2016 at 03:12 PM Report Posted March 10, 2016 at 03:12 PM 450 is already a bargain! I doubt you will find much cheaper offers than that. I think the cheapest ticket I ever found was 420 €. When I flew to Beijing in January we got a round ticket for 445 € which is already dirt cheap. (Considering the distance) Quote
Angelina Posted March 10, 2016 at 03:38 PM Report Posted March 10, 2016 at 03:38 PM Usually, 300 EUR for a one way ticket, 500 EUR for a return ticket (China-Europe) Quote
大肚男 Posted March 10, 2016 at 05:20 PM Report Posted March 10, 2016 at 05:20 PM I just booked a Roundtree Miami to Beijing for $560 on united Quote
Pokarface Posted March 10, 2016 at 05:33 PM Report Posted March 10, 2016 at 05:33 PM Round flight? If so, that is so cheap. Everyone says I got a bargain on round flight tickets from U.S. to Shanghai, and returning from Beijing for $777 USD. I can get cheaper tickets but I would have to go on Winter. Nobody wants to go to Beijing on Winter!! I used google since google now actually can find plane tickets for you as well (I mean they actually have a search engine specifically for searching flights) Quote
anonymoose Posted March 10, 2016 at 05:46 PM Report Posted March 10, 2016 at 05:46 PM Spring Air is cheap. You can get flights to China starting at 9 yuan (less than $2). 1 Quote
大肚男 Posted March 10, 2016 at 07:12 PM Report Posted March 10, 2016 at 07:12 PM Sorry, typo. Yes, roundtrip. Bought it on kayak. Leaves mid-april, comes back early may. This was the cheapest I have ever bought a ticket to china. Usually I pay about 850 to 1200 Quote
twinmatrix Posted March 11, 2016 at 05:39 AM Author Report Posted March 11, 2016 at 05:39 AM Thanks for the advice. Usually, 300 EUR for a one way ticket, 500 EUR for a return ticket (China-Europe) Only 300? I've been checking single flights from Chongqing to Europe and they're all 550+. :S Quote

Guest realmayo Posted March 11, 2016 at 09:19 AM Report Posted March 11, 2016 at 09:19 AM I'd posted that British Airway had a Chengdu to London flight at CNY 2800. Then I saw that, unlike when they're showing prices to UK buyers, the Chinese price excluded taxes etc. THose taxes pushed the price up to more like CNY 4000 which is no cheaper than the prices already mentioned in this topic. And then I saw that you wanted to go Europe to Chengdu, not the other way around. And that BA was charging GBP 1500 in that direction, London to Chengdu. So all in all, I felt my initial post would be of no help whatsoever to you and therefore deleted it Quote
Angelina Posted March 11, 2016 at 09:30 AM Report Posted March 11, 2016 at 09:30 AM I don't know about Chongqing, only tried Beijing, HK, Shanghai (to/from Belgrade, Sofia, Thessaloniki) It will be easy to find an Amsterdam - Beijing ticket for 300 EUR, 46 kg + hand luggage. Not sure about Chongqing. slightly off-topic there will be a new direct flight Hangzhou- SF offered by United, 11 hours, starting from July, let's hope it will be as cheap as the Beijing - Miami offer mentioned above. GotJack Posted March 11, 2016 at 02:59 PM Report Posted March 11, 2016 at 02:59 PM When I was last looking around a month ago there was a single from London to Beijing with a Ukrainian airline UIA for £117. I personally decided something can't be this cheap for no reason and went with Southern China which was roughly around £300. From my experience as some have already mentioned Aeroflot is always very cheap, as tend to be the Chinese airlines and also LOT the polish one. (by the way I saw this on skyscanner) Quote
