China criminal record and address check

Does anyone have any experience with obtaining proof that you have not committed any crimes while living in China?  I understand I can get some kind of document from the PSB, but only for the province I am currently living in.

 

Also, is it possible to find out previous addresses?

The criminal record certification for foreigners are issued by the public notary office where you live. They'll get the information from the PSB. You can ask your local public notary what documents you have to submit.

You mean the 公证处 right?  Any idea what they call the criminal record certification in Chinese?

Yes, 公证处. The document is called 无犯罪记录证明.

Turns out in Chengdu you need to go to the 公安局出入境 place to get this sorted.  Probably worth checking at your local 派出所 to find out where to go.
