It's been Book of the Month, with word lists and discussion. You can post your impressions in that thread if you like (the dedicated month is long over but don't let that deter you, nobody will mind).

@yedafu have a look at this topic if you haven't already, and ask there. For what it's worth, I've been able to buy Chinese ebooks from Dangdang recently on iPhone, paying via the App store for Dangdang credit.

You can from several websites, though not from Amazon.cn. Yes, Roddy's link above will tell you all you need to know, but most pre-2017 posts will probably be outdated.

I buy books from DangDang and Duokan using the apps in an iPad and paying via my account with the Apple store. It's just as easy as buying from Amazon. I also have bought books from Douban using PayPal (how-to is explained in the other thread).

Going back to 王小波,  all the ebook sellers have several of his books (novels and essays) on offer, including a few anthologies at very cheap prices.

I see there's a film adaptation, maybe I'll watch that.

Is there a film adaptation of Wang Xiaobo's 黃金時代？

 

The movie called 黃金時代 that I am aware of is actually a biopic about the life of the early 20th century author Xiao Hong 蕭紅. It's quite good, but very different from the novel with the same title, I imagine.
