Need help to find relatives at Xin-min, Puning, Guangdong

i am a Vietnamese, I known that my grand-grand-parent came from China at the end of XiX century.

 

All the information that I get is he came from Xin-min village - 新民村, Pu-ning district - 普寧邑, Guangdong province. His family name is Chan (Chen).

 

I dont know how to find out his origin, maybe someone know how to help me.

If 全村姓连 it doesn't sound like you still have relatives there, but older people might remember your family. & I think there are some famous temples in the area. Maybe they have records.
