Chris Two Times Posted May 19, 2016 at 02:30 AM Report Posted May 19, 2016 at 02:30 AM My suggestion: first take a visit to Qufu, Shandong (山东省曲阜市) and go get your Confucius on, take in your fill of all things 孔子. If you are feeling it during/after this visit, then consider the Master of Confucian philosophy. Warm regards, Chris Two Times Quote

Chris Two Times Posted May 19, 2016 at 08:38 AM Report Posted May 19, 2016 at 08:38 AM Qufu is best known as the hometown of Confucius, who is traditionally believed to have been born at nearby Mount Ni. The city contains numerous historic palaces, temples and cemeteries. The three most famous cultural sites of the city, collectively known asSan Kong (三孔), i.e. "The Three Confucian [sites]", are the Temple of Confucius (Chinese: 孔庙; pinyin: Kǒngmiào), the Cemetery of Confucius (Chinese: 孔林; pinyin: Kǒnglín), and the Kong Family Mansion (Chinese: 孔府; pinyin: Kǒngfǔ). Together, these three sites have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. [wikipedia.org, "Qufu"] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qufu I've actually been to Qufu five times in the past two years. I was really feeling it the first time, but by the fifth visit, I was no longer so moved by the spirit of the Master. It's a nice-enough town though: easily to manage and doesn't hit the wallet so hard. "The Three Kongs" are good for a stroll and to go get your 孔子 on. Warm regards, Chris Two Times Quote
