New Members Orion_ Posted July 2, 2016 at 05:33 AM New Members Report Posted July 2, 2016 at 05:33 AM hello! i was hoping to get some help on a name i've put together. I admittedly know very little about chinese, so i wanted to get some insight on it. the name is 丘超 or Qiū Chāo. please let me know if it makes sense. i was hoping for a loose interpretation of something like 'surpassing death/the grave' or 'overtaking death/the grave'. (dont worry, the name isn't for me, i'm not that cool) thank you so much for your time! Quote
skylee Posted July 2, 2016 at 08:46 AM Report Posted July 2, 2016 at 08:46 AM I don't think 丘超 sounds that great. And 'surpassing death/the grave' or 'overtaking death/the grave' is just not possible. Having said this, perhaps you could consider 無極 (wuji). Reference - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuji_(philosophy) PS - also consider 復生 (fusheng) or 甦 (su). Quote
lips Posted July 2, 2016 at 09:32 AM Report Posted July 2, 2016 at 09:32 AM Do you mean to have 丘 as the surname? If so, 丘永生 might be an option. It doesn't stand out but won't raise eyebrows either. Quote
New Members Orion_ Posted July 2, 2016 at 03:24 PM Author New Members Report Posted July 2, 2016 at 03:24 PM thank you for the responses! to clarify, do you mean to consider 無極 as a given name, while still being able to keep 丘 as the surname? because i would prefer to keep 丘, if that's possible. i actually quite like 無極!
