barashkov Posted July 25, 2016 at 10:10 PM Report Posted July 25, 2016 at 10:10 PM Hi, I have to attend a course in Hong Kong from September-November and mid-January-mid-April and would like to improve my Mandarin in course breaks (ie, December, April-June). Are there any chinese universities that allow late registration to start attending the Mandarin courses in December/April? I guess if there's not I will consider the option of a language school but I prefer to have university Mandarin courses on my CV due to the superficial industry I'm in. Quote
ChTTay Posted July 26, 2016 at 12:36 AM Report Posted July 26, 2016 at 12:36 AM Think it's unlikely. Perhaps after you finish you could find a summer school program. Some Private school intensive courses are 5 days a week and have exams at the end. Depending on your level you could aim to do a HSK at the end of the course. That way you'd have the cert from the private school (maybe not that meaningful) and a HSK. Probably your actual Chinese level is more important than having a random Chinese university on your CV anyway. Quote
Flickserve Posted July 26, 2016 at 04:27 AM Report Posted July 26, 2016 at 04:27 AM If you want the University course, then consider the Chinese University of Hong Kong part time course. It doesn't fit the December/April timeline but it does give you a University course. Quote
