onebir Posted August 24, 2016 at 09:41 AM Report Posted August 24, 2016 at 09:41 AM IATA confirms you don't need a return ticket here: The following should be taken into account even if holding a Visa: Travel on a one-way ticket is allowed. Visitors must hold proof of sufficient funds to cover their stay and documents required for their next destination. http://www.iatatravelcentre.com/CN-China-passport-visa-health-travel-document-requirements.htm This page only came up after I input a ream of info, starting here: http://www.iatatravelcentre.com/passport-visa-health-travel-document-requirements.htm AFAIK it's a general policy, but if you want to double-check your particular case there's a way to do it. Has anyone actually ever been asked for proof of funds? Quote
abcdefg Posted August 24, 2016 at 11:12 AM Report Posted August 24, 2016 at 11:12 AM I traveled from the US to China this year and last year on a one-way ticket. No questions asked. And I've never been asked for proof of sufficient funds at any time in the last 10 years (when I first came to China.) Quote
