Eloise Posted December 19, 2003 at 07:20 AM Report Share Posted December 19, 2003 at 07:20 AM What sort of place are you looking for? I taught at TEDA一中, although that's out of town a bit, and I've heard good things about Tianjin Normal University.
Tsunku Posted December 19, 2003 at 02:41 PM Report Share Posted December 19, 2003 at 02:41 PM Polly, you might try posting this over on the forums at www.china-teachers.com, the relatively new site that Roddy has also created. Couldn't hurt anyhow.
PollyWaffle Posted December 20, 2003 at 06:28 AM Author Report Share Posted December 20, 2003 at 06:28 AM well, it isn't really for me... i got a scholarship to study at nankai... my partner wants to come with me, & she is already a qualified teacher... she has found a few jobs in tianjin but the emails tend to bounce more often than not... PollyWaffle Posted December 20, 2003 at 06:29 AM Author Report Share Posted December 20, 2003 at 06:29 AM also, most sites about teaching in china are pretty pathetic or are trying to sell tefl courses, etc... it is difficult to weed out the poo
pazu Posted December 25, 2003 at 08:33 AM Report Share Posted December 25, 2003 at 08:33 AM Tianjin seems to be quite boring to me.
PollyWaffle Posted December 25, 2003 at 11:37 AM Author Report Share Posted December 25, 2003 at 11:37 AM mmm, yes this does appear to be the concensus! however, if someone gave you a few thousand dollars to study there and waives tuition fees, would you take it? @#$% yeah!! adambsmurf Posted March 3, 2004 at 12:12 PM Report Share Posted March 3, 2004 at 12:12 PM Tianjin has loads of Korean families looking for tutors. Usually you have to be introduced via friends though. My advice is come here and just look around for stuff. There's bound to be a job somwhere.
