Everything is good in moderation...

Hi there,

Just wondering how I would say that everything is fine in moderation in Chinese?

My textbook asks about whether or not I would prohibit my children from eating candy or watching tv. I want to answer that question by saying something like "I think that everything is fine in moderation." Would the word 适量 be appropriate?

Another question - is there an idiom in Chinese that is similar to the one in English (re. a bad experience) 'leave a sour taste in your mouth'?

谢谢 :D
