Wuka Posted October 1, 2016 at 11:27 AM Report Posted October 1, 2016 at 11:27 AM What is the difference between those two words (品德,道德), when to use them, I would also appreciate popular examples. Quote
Guest123 Posted October 1, 2016 at 12:17 PM Report Posted October 1, 2016 at 12:17 PM As far as I understand 品德 is personal moral quality, character of a particular individual, and 道德 is ethics, moral principles of a society. 1 Quote
Wuka Posted October 1, 2016 at 04:37 PM Author Report Posted October 1, 2016 at 04:37 PM Chinese friend of mine said that 道德 is for theory, while 品德 is for people. Thanks! Quote
RadioSilence Posted October 3, 2016 at 03:43 PM Report Posted October 3, 2016 at 03:43 PM 品德 is more like your personal bearing, demeanor, i.e. the "virtue of your specimen." 道德 is the underlying morality and philosophy that leads to manifestations of 品德. It can be just as individually-oriented. Quote
