laurenth Posted October 21, 2016 at 01:23 PM Report Posted October 21, 2016 at 01:23 PM Maybe it's old news for everybody but me, but I've just discovered two features of Youtube that may interest some people, in particular those who use 锵锵三人行 as a learning tool. Note that I don't understand 锵锵三人行, it's way above my level, but I sometimes browse their Youtube channel to try to make something out of it (in vain up to now). Today I saw that you can manually add subtitles to the videos (click on "... more"). For instance, you could open the transcription of a show and add subs either in Chinese or in English. Also, I clicked on the wheel button on the video and saw that you can slow down the video by half. I turned it on and, of course, voices were slightly distorted, but not too much so. And, for the very first time, I was actually understanding what they were saying. It's silly, but I felt great. 3 Quote
abcdefg Posted October 21, 2016 at 02:34 PM Report Posted October 21, 2016 at 02:34 PM I like those video discussions. Have been watching them off and on for a couple of years. Didn't realize the playback speed could be adjusted. Thanks for that tip! Quote
stapler Posted October 22, 2016 at 03:47 AM Report Posted October 22, 2016 at 03:47 AM Strange. I have way more trouble understanding them than I do on normal speed... May the sound quality is too distorted for me? Quote
abcdefg Posted October 22, 2016 at 01:54 PM Report Posted October 22, 2016 at 01:54 PM Slowing it down causes lots of distortion for me too. Quote
lukey296 Posted November 12, 2016 at 08:23 AM Report Posted November 12, 2016 at 08:23 AM https://www.lingq.com/learn/zh/web/#/course/247936 This is link to around 20 episodes of this show I upload to lingq.com with transcripts. Lingq is paid but worth it. It's great if you upload your own stuff (When I have time I will be uploading articles with audio from wechat official account 十点读书, I recommend you guys try a similar thing). I think 3 of these are messed up and I will correct them soon when I have time. I'll try to upload more soon. Enjoy! Quote
艾墨本 Posted November 20, 2016 at 05:21 AM Report Posted November 20, 2016 at 05:21 AM @lukey296 I did not need to pay to use the courses that you created. I just made an account and got going. Quote
