I'm not sure your examples line up with my sentence at all, they're all past tense / change of state.  I do agree that point one from your list seems to match my scenario, I just wish I had a more precise explanation of what 表示肯定语气 means - when it is used/acceptable.  I guess I'll keep my eyes and ears open for now.  This type of grammar may be a bit ahead of my level anyway.

Okay this is just my "语感" response. The 了 here I 'feel' is like the 了 in 太好了 or 多好了. It's nothing to do with the aspect, but making it emphatic. In this case I 'feel' like it's working with the 更.

That's very intriguing actually, to think that 太--了 pattern could be present in other constructs without 太 as well.  I'll definitely look out for extensions/generalizations of the 太--了 pattern in the future.
