philipbeckwith Posted January 2, 2017 at 01:51 AM Report Posted January 2, 2017 at 01:51 AM Hello, I am looking for links to short stories for high school Mandarin language students. Specifically: Written in colloquial, everyday language Within it is something worth pondering/thinking about. Hopefully something an average person could relate to. Short (for example, 1,000 characters would not be too short if the story was worthwhile.) Not necessary, but it would be awesome if the writer was well known. I would prefer recommendations with links of specific stories, but if you have websites with collections, that could be helpful too. Thanks to anyone who helps! Phil Quote
ChTTay Posted January 2, 2017 at 02:37 AM Report Posted January 2, 2017 at 02:37 AM Chinese Breeze graded reader series is widely used. The series has been covered on this site a lot. Most stories are written for the series. Mandarin companion is a newer series that has less choice but they have some translated stories (like The Secret Garden). These are also discussed on this site. Search this site and you'll find information on these. Google will also provide links to their websites, Amazon links etc 1 Quote
philipbeckwith Posted January 2, 2017 at 02:58 AM Author Report Posted January 2, 2017 at 02:58 AM Thank you ChTTay. Currently I need something quick. I would like some stories that there is a direct link to them. They need not be part of a textbook. In fact, I am hoping that it is an authentic text. Of course being at a level that a learner could figure out is no easy task. In the future I can get the graded readers, so your suggestion is useful still. Quote
