beijingbooty Posted July 25, 2005 at 11:36 PM Report Posted July 25, 2005 at 11:36 PM Hello, I really like the programme on CCTV called HAPPY CHINA. It teaches foreigners to speak mandarin. Only problem is I dont have CCTV installed at home. Can anyone tape or burn these shows to CD and send to me ? I am happy to pay for them. Or is there somewhere to purchase them. ps. yes I have emailed CCTV on numerous occasions . Never once have I received a response. Dont ever email CCTV and expect a response, casue it aint gonna happen !! Quote

beijingbooty Posted September 12, 2005 at 11:57 PM Author Report Posted September 12, 2005 at 11:57 PM wow, I am really astounded. Here I am willing to give decent money to someone for a couple of tapes worth of Happy China, and no-one responds !! When I emailed CCTV to ask how to buy recorded episodes of the show on disc, no-one even bothered to reply. And here am I thinking that everyone in China was taking the roller coaster ride of capitalism in the scramble to attain affluency. Guess I was wrong. You Chinese guys, Euro students in China and CCTV must have too much money. Quote
roddy Posted September 13, 2005 at 12:40 AM Report Posted September 13, 2005 at 12:40 AM VHS is extremely here - China went straight to VCD and then DVD. I know nobody with a VHS player / recorder. So if anyone wanted to help you out they'd have to record it to CD / DVD, which would mean getting a TV input to their computer, or finding an online source - the first one is a hassle, and the second would mean you could do it yourself. Good luck Roddy Quote
elina Posted September 13, 2005 at 01:15 AM Report Posted September 13, 2005 at 01:15 AM Just now I contacted with CCTV, they said they are publishing one book + one DVD now, and the materials will come out in the next month. The total price of one book + one DVD will be RMB 65.00 yuan (they estimate). The materials are on 15 courses of 欢乐中国. When the materials come out, our company will buy them for you, if you want.
