889 Posted February 16, 2017 at 11:57 AM Report Posted February 16, 2017 at 11:57 AM I just meant that moving back and forth on various pages on both mobile and web versions, it's possible to get confused, particularly when new to the revised mobile version. That should sort itself out over time. I think mobile versions by their nature are more difficult to grasp at first. Quote
roddy Posted February 16, 2017 at 12:07 PM Author Report Posted February 16, 2017 at 12:07 PM Yeah, that makes sense. The mobile version is a bit more complex now, but it's also fully-functional. Should be the case that anything you can do on your desktop, you can do on mobile. Quote
roddy Posted February 16, 2017 at 03:46 PM Author Report Posted February 16, 2017 at 03:46 PM Another possibility - sidebar. Problem with these is the sidebar's never the same length as the posts, so either it juts down way past it, or you acres of empty sidebar. Quote
Mati1 Posted February 16, 2017 at 04:36 PM Report Posted February 16, 2017 at 04:36 PM Heh I can see what you did there! The sidebar should be optional and / or be loaded on a big screen (as in 1920+ on a big monitor). Quote

Mati1 Posted February 18, 2017 at 07:48 PM Report Posted February 18, 2017 at 07:48 PM What's the optimal resolution for a profile's cover photo? Quote
roddy Posted February 20, 2017 at 10:28 AM Author Report Posted February 20, 2017 at 10:28 AM @Shelley, if you're editing a blog entry (which I think you did Saturday), try not to change the publish date - that can make an old post reappear at the top of the Activity Stream. @imron have filed a bug report for those links, they'll be an easy fix. @Mati1 I'm not actually sure, but it looks like the container has a maximum width of 1340px so I'd guess Quote
Mati1 Posted February 20, 2017 at 11:41 AM Report Posted February 20, 2017 at 11:41 AM I did some measuring and comparing and am now using 1264 x 256 for the profile photo (banner). This should be close enough to the correct size (and is a multiple of eight as should be used for jpegs). Quote
Shelley Posted February 20, 2017 at 01:09 PM Report Posted February 20, 2017 at 01:09 PM @roddy sorry didn't realise I had. How do I edit without changing the date? Quote
roddy Posted February 20, 2017 at 01:46 PM Author Report Posted February 20, 2017 at 01:46 PM It might have been something else, but if you're editing a blog post there's a field at the bottom to change the date. But don't, because it confuses things. Quote
Guest realmayo Posted February 20, 2017 at 04:49 PM Report Posted February 20, 2017 at 04:49 PM I see the whole-quote function is back.... or did I just imagine it ever went away? Quote
Shelley Posted February 20, 2017 at 05:25 PM Report Posted February 20, 2017 at 05:25 PM I see the date field, I understand, I did change it to now, not understanding the date was in the past but that was correct. Quote
roddy Posted February 21, 2017 at 09:52 AM Author Report Posted February 21, 2017 at 09:52 AM @realmayo - yeah, that was me. I'm in the process of figuring out how to do things properly ;-) Should be gone again now. Quote
roddy Posted February 21, 2017 at 10:06 AM Author Report Posted February 21, 2017 at 10:06 AM On 13/02/2017 at 10:46 PM, roddy said: If anyone feels inclined - select 'experimental' from the theme drop down in the footer. It should make the page loads a bit quicker, but may result in oddities - only thing I've noticed is the editor toolbar looking a bit funny (edit - fixed!). It's just shifting javascript to the footer. I've been testing this for the last week or so and haven't noticed any problems, so I've made the change for everyone. Quote
Mati1 Posted February 22, 2017 at 03:07 PM Report Posted February 22, 2017 at 03:07 PM I can see that the avatars on the forum overview pages (thread listing pages) are back. Quote
imron Posted February 22, 2017 at 03:43 PM Report Posted February 22, 2017 at 03:43 PM Looks like the SSL certificate for the site has expired. 1 Quote
roddy Posted February 22, 2017 at 04:31 PM Author Report Posted February 22, 2017 at 04:31 PM Which explains why SMTP stopped sending out emails! Looks like the auto-renewal of the certificate failed. Quote
roddy Posted February 22, 2017 at 05:43 PM Author Report Posted February 22, 2017 at 05:43 PM Sorry for any disruption there, folks. The SSL certificate should autorenew but didn't. Fixed now and I've put arrangements in place to ensure I remember to check it's renewed in plenty of time in May. @imron, remind me about this in May. Quote
