fabiothebest Posted January 17, 2017 at 01:57 PM Report Posted January 17, 2017 at 01:57 PM What are the most popular books in China? I mean books written originally in Chinese, popular among Chinese readers. Native material, not graded Chinese readers. Quote

New Members Eric Cai Posted January 24, 2017 at 06:17 AM New Members Report Posted January 24, 2017 at 06:17 AM I would like to recommend this book <平凡的世界>. It's not a new book but many Chinese like it all the same. It was ranked in the best selling list of Amazon.cn for a long time. Quote

I remember when I was young, it was on the radio like everyday. Yep, 中央人民广播电台1988年126天连播《平凡的世界》. Maybe you can find an audiobook version too. But I'm not sure it still resonates with today's audience. It's supposed to be inspirational. And I'm allergic to inspirational. Edited January 24, 2017 at 08:23 AM by Publius Quote
Luxi Posted January 24, 2017 at 02:43 PM Report Posted January 24, 2017 at 02:43 PM Strangely, 2012玛雅预言真相 (The truth about the Mayan Prophecies) tops the bestsellers' list in the e-books seller Duokan - perhaps it's the price (0.99 元), perhaps a certain 'end-of-year' mood or a reflection of the times. 三体(全三册) is second, and has been 1st or 2nd for at least 2 years.
