New Members Respawnzer Posted January 19, 2017 at 02:13 PM New Members Report Posted January 19, 2017 at 02:13 PM Hi, so I would like to know if there are any Chinese textbooks that are similar to the Japanese Genki 1 & 2 series. I took Mandarin in college last semester but I just couldn't stand the material we used which was Contemporary Chinese Revised Edition. In my opinion, it felt really bland and uninteresting compared to how Genki was formatted. Plus the damn thing didn't come with any of the audio which sucks since a lot of the questions asks to "listen to the audio". I've been looking through some of the threads and it seems some people really like DeFrancis Beginner Chinese and Integrated Chinese are these two any similar to Genki? Or are there other textbooks that are better (with audio of course!). 1 Quote
