Question about living AND working in hostels in Shanghai (or other Chinese cities)

Hello! I'm hoping to take a trip to Shanghai (or perhaps another city in China) within the coming months. I have a question about working in a hostel while I'm staying in Shanghai. I've traveled around the Spanish-speaking world and have had experience with hostels' allowing me to work for them as either a receptionist or bartender while staying there in exchange for free accommodation and other perks. So I'm wondering if anybody on here knows if this is feasible to do in Shanghai? If so, do you know of any specific hostels that do this? Basically I'm trying to travel on a budget and would love to work a few hours at the hostel in exchange for free accommodation there haha. Thanks for any advice you can give me!
