@Daniel Tsui44, I think the OP is asking about tone sandhi. As you probably know, 一 changes tone, depending on what other word follows it. In this sentence, I don't think it's the first tone. Or do you disagree?

@Apollys, I'd say second tone, but I'm not sure if my explanation of the reason would be correct.

when it's the first tone,it's like that. you can always pronounce 一 the first tone, when you don't know which tone to pronounce. it don't feel weird.

I mean "ea" as in easy doesn't sound like 一.

It's exact the same to me.:P  In pinying, "i" pronounce exactly like "yi".

But "easy" is not pronounced as "yee-zy",

Do you think that 一 pronounce the same like 易? like the "ee" in "employee"? that's the fourth tone.

I'm not talking about the tone.  I'm saying that "easy" in English is not pronounced as "易zy".

['iːzɪ] is not pronounced as "yee-zi".

The letter "e" is not pronounced as "yee" or 易。

一  pronounce the same as 易 when in the fourth tone, it sounds like "ee".

when  一 in the first tone, it sounds like "ea".

in 2nd tone, it pronounce the same as 移, i cannot locate a English example

一 and 易  .... sounds like "ee".

when  一 ... it sounds like "ea".

Not correct.

What's the difference between "阿“ and ”亚”?
