@LanceGonza I tried to e-mail CSC, but didn't get any reply. Guess, you can try to find phone number of chinese embassy education dapartment in your country (I think they should be in charge of sending all the documents) and ask them. Or just wait till July ;/

@Artemiy I called the primary point of contact for the CSC applications at the Chinese Consulate in New York and he said that after sending the documents to the CSC offices in Beijing, they have very little idea about what progress is being made. Rather, the ones who would best know would be the schools you applied to through the CSC. But of course many of the schools like to stay hush hush until results are out.

@artfullounger Exactly. It's not that the schools don't know, they just don't want to disclose any information until it's final. So, unfortunately, waiting for July to come is really the only thing for us to do. But still it is best to know who to contact, so that if there is still no news in July that's the time to really make them talk

Anyone here going to Xiamen University (XMU)? I was accepted by XMU but the CSC bureaucracy has been interesting.

A month and half ago I was "Recommended" by the consulate. When I forwarded that to XMU I received a "pre-admission letter" two days later.

I periodically checked the XMU online application system,  and on Saturday I saw that I was accepted! (No email notified me of this, go check the website if you applied to Xiamen). The admissions office at the University said that since I applied through the Consulate, they will forward me the admission package. The Consulate told me to "Wait for further notice" regarding my application for the China Government Scholarship. :wall

I feel like it's 99.99% confirmed at this point, but it would be nice if I could start planning my move to the other side of the world.

Still no complaints, how many countries have a scholarship program of this scale for foreigners?

I'm doing one year of Chinese language study, followed by a 3 years masters degree in Finance (taught in Chinese). I'm curious what the break down of applicants are for language study/English masters degree/Chinese masters degree.
