I have almost completed New Practical Chinese Reader 1 2nd edition in simplified. I like the book but need to be learning traditional now.

I can't seem to find NPCR 2 onwards in 2nd edition in traditional, and not sure if all the books (5-6) are available in traditional, even in first edition.

Have these been published/are they in print now? Does anyone know the differences between 1st and 2nd editions?

I Can't find them on the major bookstores online in the UK.

You can get them at amazon uk. These are the ISBN numbers:

978-7-5619-2107-4       NPCR Textbook  Traditional version     https://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Practical-Chinese-Reader-Textbook/dp/B001FABCNS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1486723772&sr=8-2&keywords=9787561921074

978-7-5619-2108-1       NPCR Workbook Traditional version

I have these books in front of me. I don't know if goes to 3,4,5 or 6, its hard to find out.

There is some discussion about the differences between the versions here https://www.chinese-forums.com/forums/topic/50822-new-npcr-edition/#comment-389560

Hope this helps.

Edit: Just realised they are out of stock,Sorry to mislead you. I had mine sent to me from China.

Thanks for the reply Shelley. It sounded as though there is not much difference between 1st and 2nd editions.

Another member on the forum suggested books 5 and 6 aren't available in traditional and I expect that there is no hope for the full set in traditional any time soon if at all.

In that case, I am considering other series but Integrated Chinese seems to be difficult/very expensive to obtain in the UK and other books in traditional even more so.

They are available, I was lucky enough to have some books that I didn't need and someone wanted them so we did a swap, my books for the textbook and workbook shipped from China.

Maybe you could find some one willing to send them to you from China, they aren't that expensive and shipping can be quite cheap if you don't want them in a hurry.

Maybe someone should do a book run:D Start a new business:shock:

Integrated Chinese was my second choice but as I now have NPCR I am sticking with that.

You might be able to find second hand version of integrated Chinese.

Do you mean books 2-6 in traditional?

I'll see if someone I know in Hong Kong can get hold of them then. Do you have the isbns for the other volumes to hand by any chance?

Thank you, that's very helpful. I'll consider doing the first 4 NPCR then finding another intermediate textbook then.
