elina Posted July 28, 2005 at 12:03 PM Report Posted July 28, 2005 at 12:03 PM If your Chinese is good enough to read Mandarin, I think the first website is better than the second one, although the second one has English version. Lots of naming knowledge on the following websites: http://www.125we.com.cn/ff.htm http://www.lucking.com.cn/english/index.asp http://www.quming.com.cn/menu_2.asp?t_id=43&t_name=%D3%A4%B6%F9%C8%A1%C3%FB Quote
devi9 Posted July 28, 2005 at 04:03 PM Report Posted July 28, 2005 at 04:03 PM http://www.chinasprout.com/html/naming.html An interesting article about giving babies a Chinese name. Offers the names of some books that might be able to help you out. Good luck! Quote
skylee Posted July 29, 2005 at 02:21 PM Report Posted July 29, 2005 at 02:21 PM I came across the name of this baby today (strangely I cannot recall if it is a boy or a girl) and I think it is sooooooo good -> 許諾 (surname - 許 Xu3/Hui2; given name - 諾 Nuo4/Nok9; meaning - promise) And of course another very good name is that of singer 黎明, which means "dawn" literally.
