New Members Richard G Posted March 11, 2017 at 10:11 PM New Members Report Posted March 11, 2017 at 10:11 PM I lived in Taipei, Taiwan from 1964 - 1967. I heard the two (2) expressions of speech. Ding Hao: Good. Boo Hao: Bad. My issue is when I go on sites regarding these two expressions of speech, I find nothing regarding either of them. Please help me regarding this research. Thank you for you're input regarding both. Quote
艾墨本 Posted March 12, 2017 at 09:08 AM Report Posted March 12, 2017 at 09:08 AM 挺好 tinghao 不好 buhao Perhaps it's a difference of the romanization method. Quote
Publius Posted March 12, 2017 at 09:11 AM Report Posted March 12, 2017 at 09:11 AM I think they are 頂好 dǐnghǎo, literally 'top(notch) good' and 不好 bùhǎo, literally 'not good'. Regarding 'Ding Hao' there's an old thread on this forum https://www.chinese-forums.com/forums/topic/24468-ding-hao-ding-how-as-used-by-us-ww2-pilots-in-china/ 2 Quote
