889 Posted March 21, 2017 at 07:05 AM Report Share Posted March 21, 2017 at 07:05 AM You know the problem on a phone: you pause the video to take a longer gander at the caption, and the navigation bar immediately pops up, blocking the caption. Can anyone suggest an Android video player that keeps the navigation bar below the video image when paused?

Shelley Posted March 21, 2017 at 01:33 PM Report Share Posted March 21, 2017 at 01:33 PM VLC lets you customise the bar position. https://www.vlchelp.com/how-to-customize-interface/
mlescano Posted March 21, 2017 at 02:27 PM Report Share Posted March 21, 2017 at 02:27 PM At least on iOS, when you pause VLC by tapping with two fingers, no bar appears; only a small pause icon in the center of the screen.
889 Posted March 21, 2017 at 07:54 PM Author Report Share Posted March 21, 2017 at 07:54 PM Thanks! I should have mentioned that this is a problem only in landscape mode. But in portrait orientation the captions are too small to read comfortably. VLC Android does not seem to have that interface option. It's an option in VLC Windows. And two-finger tapping doesn't help, at least with my two fingers. In addition to VLC, I've tried MX, PlayMP4, and some others I've uninstalled and forgotten. Edit: Solved! On VLC Android a quick one-finger double tap works.
