iekkim Posted March 22, 2017 at 02:35 AM Report Share Posted March 22, 2017 at 02:35 AM I've realized how it could help me learn Mandarin faster if I listened to podcasts. I don't have Chinese radio stations readily available and my only source of Chinese music is whatever is on Spotify. I've just Downloaded Pocket Cast and subscribed to Learn Mandarin. I haven't gotten around to listening to it but will do so as soon as I am on my way home from work. If there are other podcasts that you like and listen to (especially ones that are easy for the beginners like me), please suggest some. It would also be much better if they're available on Pocket Cast so I at least get my money's worth. Thanks in advance!
NinKenDo Posted March 22, 2017 at 02:58 AM Report Share Posted March 22, 2017 at 02:58 AM Important Chinese Things with Jenny Zhu is pretty good because they codeswitch/translanguage between Mandarin and English, which helps you stay in the conversation if you're not getting all the Mandarin. They also talk about some interesting topics, and they have a variety of Mainlander, Chinese-American, Westerner Taiwan expat, Taiwanese, etc, so you get some different perspectives. 大块头 Posted March 22, 2017 at 08:05 PM Report Share Posted March 22, 2017 at 08:05 PM ChinesePod is probably the most well known publisher of beginner-level Chinese podcasts. 慢速中文 is another.
Chris Two Times Posted March 23, 2017 at 05:14 AM Report Share Posted March 23, 2017 at 05:14 AM I have been using <慢速中文 Slow Chinese> and am very glad that it was introduced to me. I have found that the slower speed has helped me with my listening comprehension.

ouyangjun Posted March 23, 2017 at 01:52 PM Report Share Posted March 23, 2017 at 01:52 PM @imron, thanks for the suggestion 《原来是这样》. I just found it on 喜马拉雅 Ximalaya and subscribed. Sticking on the 喜马拉雅 Ximalaya podcasts, I listen to 《民谣在路上》 regularly, which is a a great source for modern folk music.
