Lu Posted March 23, 2017 at 10:22 AM Report Share Posted March 23, 2017 at 10:22 AM Sherer: I'd go with one of the Shis. 石 Shí (stone), 時 Shí (time), 史 Shǐ (history), or 施 Shī (to give, roughly). Pick one you like (or better yet, pick one that a native speaker says sounds best with your and your father's given name). Bar: I'd go with 雄 Xióng. It means 'strong', with connotations of manliness and heroism, and sounds the same as 熊 meaning 'bear'. But wait for confirmation of a native speaker. I don't have any good idea for Shlomo at the moment, perhaps someone else can help. But do not, absolutely not, get this as a tattoo. Or if you really want to, wait at least two or three years. For several reasons: - getting your own name as a tattoo is weird. - odds are that you won't find a good tattooist and the resulting tattoo will be ugly. - if you learn Chinese, it's likely that you'll soon be embarrassed by a Chinese tattoo. So, don't get your Chinese name as a tattoo.
