There is a new tv drama called 人民的名义 (In the name of people). It is about Chinese government trying to discover and fight corruption. Xi Jinping is running a real anti-corruption campaign and the production received significant government funding. It should be interesting and fun to watch. Chinese citizens say that although it's a fiction, the tv drama feels so real

When I tried to watch the screen was covered in scrolling characters and the number six repeated a lot. The picture behind was almost completely obscured. Is this me? Or something else I don't know about not being a regular user of Youku?

I have been watching on tv here in China. Its very interesting. However, there is a lot of vocab I am not familiar with. Does anybody know where to find a list of vocab for this series? If such a thing exists!?

This WeChat account  provides soft-copy transcripts for Chinese TV shows.  They charge for each episode so it might get costly for an entire series, but I imagine transcripts from just the first few episodes would be enough to get a good feel for commonly used vocab.

Ok, that's more pricey than I thought.  A previous thread that first mentioned this service was charging 10 rmb an episode for 欢乐颂.

 

I guess the price fluctuates depending on popularity and how recent it is.

Although I'm sure it'll end up showing the CCP as a virtuous organisation dealing with a few bad apples it makes a nice change from the usual Chinese drama fare. I think it's also a good opportunity to learn some party-speak in an interesting way. Anyway, watching two episodes has convinced me that it will be worth going through in detail and producing a vocab list for. I should be able to stick to a schedule of at least 2 episodes per week.
