BawaBoy Posted April 13, 2017 at 06:59 AM Report Posted April 13, 2017 at 06:59 AM I'm outside of China at the moment, and my future Chinese employer has just sent a massive list of things I need for a visa (I think it's the 'Z Visa'). The only thing I'm confused about is the medical. Do I need to get the medical before I arrive (in my own country), or can I just get one when I'm in China? Some posts suggest that it's a waste of time getting it done elsewhere, as they will just do it again when I get there. Any info would be appreciated! Quote
GaHanna Posted April 13, 2017 at 10:08 AM Report Posted April 13, 2017 at 10:08 AM I am not sure about how much relevance it is getting a medical in your home country. My doctor at home just signed me off one in no time. I am sure that others would have better insight into this but I imagine that it is a requirement for applying for a z visa and without a med cert such an application may be denied. The medical on this side is not expensive so I would opt for both. Quote

BawaBoy Posted April 13, 2017 at 10:47 PM Author Report Posted April 13, 2017 at 10:47 PM Yes, it's the Z visa - I just checked. In the contract there is a sign-on bonus, paid over three months, so that will help pay for some of the costs for all of those tests Quote
