Does anyone know what this is? To me, it seems to be something for existing students...
Tiri Posted June 21, 2017 at 08:10 AM Report Share Posted June 21, 2017 at 08:10 AM It's probably the scholarship for good grades in the past semester and stuff. They just announced them on ZheDa also. Nothing that would concern us I'm afraid...

Ramloc17 Posted June 21, 2017 at 04:38 PM Report Share Posted June 21, 2017 at 04:38 PM Thanks @uchiha ! took a lil bit of work but I thought people should get to see. You can access the information yourself by going to http://dormnew.sjtu.edu.cn/login.action and signing in. then go reserve room, then click on the building you want on the left and click on more information. The prices etc are in the guidebook that someone linked earlier.
Tiri Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:21 PM Report Share Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:21 PM Is there any information as for how much we can spend on accommodation within the scholarship? I'm guessing the cheapest ones? xd
Ramloc17 Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:27 PM Report Share Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:27 PM I think you have to pay for the room upfront and then you will get given your accomodation money when you come to china or something. but yeah masters allowance is 1200 CNY a month, and the cheapest single room in any hostel is 1500. If you want to live in a single room you will have to dip into your 3000 stipend presuming you get a type A scholarship. If you want to save money you go into a double room.

Ramloc17 Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:34 PM Report Share Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:34 PM basically for privacy and a decent room you need to spend a lot more.
Ramloc17 Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:36 PM Report Share Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:36 PM what i dont get is the costs during the summer vacation and what not. they charge you per day and its more expensive which sucks Like for the best room in the asian youth center you pay 9000yuan just to be there for the vacations....insane
Tiri Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:48 PM Report Share Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:48 PM @Ramloc17 but ive just read somewhere that students who stay for several consecutive semesters dont have to pay the vacation fee. I think it was on that study@SJTU website
Ramloc17 Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:50 PM Report Share Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:50 PM That would be totally awesome. because that would be like a third of the total fees
Ramloc17 Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:59 PM Report Share Posted June 21, 2017 at 05:59 PM A more easier to understand price comparison would be per month (only did this for Xuhui Campus) Building price S/D Bathroom Asian youth center West 1766 Single Private Asian youth center North 1766 Single Private Asian youth center east 1983 Single Private Bld 9 1650 Single Public Lianxing 1550 Single Private Asian youth center North 1100 Double Private Asian youth center east 1100 Double Private Bld 9 766 Double Public Basically to live within the 1200 accommodation allowance you must live in a shared double room, if you want your privacy you need to pay extra.
