chenyswhite Posted May 11, 2017 at 01:00 AM Report Posted May 11, 2017 at 01:00 AM Hi,there. Until someone asked me a question: Do you know varieties tea need different temperature of the water? I was shocked for I just put boiled water and then add the tea. I don't know what I've drink for a long time? I learned some knowledge about tea from my friends. Temperature is critical in making good tea. The popular conception that boiling water can be used on any kind of tea is actually incorrect. In fact, each variety of tea, from green to black, needs to prepared at a different range of temperature. Because of its more delicate processing, green tea often needs a cooler temperature to bring out the right flavor. Conversely, black tea, which has been fully oxidized, needs much hotter water to bring out its characteristic baked sweetness. Have a nice day! Quote
abcdefg Posted May 11, 2017 at 07:01 AM Report Posted May 11, 2017 at 07:01 AM Yes, you are right, @chenyswhite; water temperature is very important. Pu'er tea requires the highest brewing temperature of all and white tea requires the coolest. Others, as you say, fall in between. Would you like to read some more about tea, or perhaps make other contributions on the subject? Several of us here are interested in tea, and we would welcome you to join us. 1 Quote
Shelley Posted May 11, 2017 at 01:03 PM Report Posted May 11, 2017 at 01:03 PM One thing I have found that works well is what ever temperature you feel you need for your tea, bring it to a boil first and then let it cool down I find I get a better result. 1 Quote

Yes, indeed. I second that. Quote
