New Members Janette Posted June 15, 2017 at 06:41 PM New Members Report Share Posted June 15, 2017 at 06:41 PM The attached photo shows a Chinese silver ladies belt buckle, probably made for the export trade, late 19th century. It consists of two characters that hook together to make the buckle. The characters are engraved with a bamboo and cherry blossom pattern. I'd love to know what the characters mean. Can anyone help, please?

New Members AnthonySun Posted June 16, 2017 at 08:16 AM New Members Report Share Posted June 16, 2017 at 08:16 AM Character on the right is 福, which is a formal and traditional expression for good fortune. Left one is 寿, means lifespan or longevity. Both are mostly used for blessings.
