Hi,

I've just bought a vase, with what I think a Chinese poem from Li Bai on it.

But could someone please translate or tell me which poem it is?

Thank you

Inscriptions on vases follow a pattern: to the right is some trite verse there for decoration as much as meaning and to the left is the interesting bit, perhaps a name and date and place indicating the source of the vase.

Which is a nice way of saying that when asking for help with a vase, you need to provide clear, head-on shots of the left-side of the inscription.

The second poem from Li Bai's "清平调词三首"

The version on the vase looks like
