Spelling out foreign words in Chinese? Help!

Well, that person inexplicably chose to hide the information.  You have to click a button to see it.  I've no idea why this was done, it seems that the literal answer to a question should be front and center.

Oops I missed that, thanks for pointing it out! But is that guide accurate? G and Z are both 'ji', that doesn't make any sense

Z is generally zēi.  Sometimes I've heard it as 'zee' - a sound that doesn't exist in standard mandarin but is pronounced with the pinyin 'z' initial followed by the 'i' sound in 'ji', which is I guess where they are coming from in that post. 

 

Other than that, it's mostly accurate.

In hindsight, it was done with some combination of anti-long post, tidiniess OCD, and for want of testing the 'spoiler' button. But like all things we look for, it's in the last place we look for it. :mrgreen:
