New Members Will_Shaw Posted September 28, 2017 at 03:45 AM New Members Report Posted September 28, 2017 at 03:45 AM I want to start drinking chrysanthemum tea. But I just read how this daisy like plant has naturally occurring insecticed called Pyrethrins. So I was wondering does this do anything to people that drink it? Is it destroyed with hot water? Or a way to destroy it? Quote

I drink it a lot, several kinds. Good stuff! Here's more about it and some other flower teas as well. I really enjoy chrysanthemum and rose together. https://www.chinese-forums.com/forums/topic/52972-a-little-about-chinese-flower-tea-花茶/ Welcome to the forum. Are you now living in China? Quote
roddy Posted September 28, 2017 at 09:55 AM Report Posted September 28, 2017 at 09:55 AM It's not insecticide residues, it's a naturally-occurring chemical the plants themselves produce. It's not regarded as dangerous, unless, as vellocet says, you're an insect. Quote
Popular Post abcdefg Posted September 28, 2017 at 10:37 AM Popular Post Report Posted September 28, 2017 at 10:37 AM OK, I see. Then does the OP need to worry about it? Probably not. After drinking it about ten years, one of my six legs got slightly bent so I crawl with a slight limp, and one of my antennae fell off, though that may have been co-incidental. Other than that, I've noticed no ill effects. 7 Quote

Teasenz Posted September 29, 2017 at 07:10 AM Report Posted September 29, 2017 at 07:10 AM We're talking here about very very very small doses. Thousands of times smaller than synthetically extracted Pyrethrins for fending of insects. Quote
