Hello,

It is an image of the bottom side of the golden coated silver cup stored in a one church in Lithuania. It is the first such finding in Lithuania.

I was able to read the first line as jing, pinyin (capital Pekin), the intermediate characters are tang, zhu, tian (church, owner, God). However, I have difficulties in translating the bottom line two characters. The character on the left seems to be jie (no English translation provided). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This was found in Lithuania? Do you have any other details about the church or any potential ties to China?

The text reads from right to left on this one:

北京

天主堂

製造

Made by the Catholic Church of Beijing.

Thanks for the help. Actually, there are no direct ties with China. We assume that it was donated from any other countries during the Soviet period (1950-1960s). One possibility is that it was received from the USA. The question how it crossed the Soviet Union border is open.
