Pianote Posted October 14, 2017 at 09:37 AM Report Posted October 14, 2017 at 09:37 AM I will be applying for work visa but i keep reading that I will have to go back to my country to apply because my passport is too new. How do I get around that? I don't want to be stuck in Hong Kong nor do I want to go back home. Quote
ChTTay Posted October 15, 2017 at 12:57 AM Report Posted October 15, 2017 at 12:57 AM You don't provide enough information. Are you in China? Do you already have a residence permit in an old passport and you want to switch it? Quote
889 Posted October 15, 2017 at 01:03 AM Report Posted October 15, 2017 at 01:03 AM He's starting a series of threads, and that information is tucked away in his other threads. (He's looking for a teaching job in China, his first teaching job in China. He's visiting in Hong Kong now. He recently applied for a Mainland tourist visa in HK but got turned back because his passport is too new -- the Turkey problem. So he's hanging out in expensive Hong Kong trying to decide how to proceed.) Quote
ChTTay Posted October 15, 2017 at 01:05 AM Report Posted October 15, 2017 at 01:05 AM Ha thanks for the update. I'd fly back home and do it the right way. Although you'd likely struggle to find legitimate teaching work as a non-native speaker. Unless there are Turkish schools here. Quote
