Hofmann Posted October 16, 2017 at 10:59 PM Report Posted October 16, 2017 at 10:59 PM I think you'll need to be more specific. What program is this? Lots of Ph.Ds get earned over email and Skype. Quote
New Members bernardpar Posted October 17, 2017 at 07:12 AM Author New Members Report Posted October 17, 2017 at 07:12 AM I am looking for a counterpart of Skype/Zoom with Audio/Video/Screen Sharing/etc. I teach research/knowledge management skills/academic skills. I will have to be able to explain statistics, academic software etc. I was suggested that WeChat might work for my purposes, but it is a mobile app only? Quote
Hofmann Posted October 17, 2017 at 04:15 PM Report Posted October 17, 2017 at 04:15 PM How about Google Docs? You can collaborate in real time on spreadsheets, text documents, charts, and other document types through extensions. Nevermind. China. Quote

Any problems with Skype? An alternative is to use Skype screen sharing for visual content but use wechat for just the voice as I suspect voice quality is an issue if solely using Skype Quote
New Members bernardpar Posted October 18, 2017 at 06:35 PM Author New Members Report Posted October 18, 2017 at 06:35 PM Skype would be OK, however, it does not seem to work reliably in China. What about QQ? Quote
Maria Wolters Posted October 19, 2017 at 07:05 PM Report Posted October 19, 2017 at 07:05 PM WeChat works a lot better than Skype for 1:1. What is your budget? Quote
