Pengyou Posted November 12, 2017 at 02:35 AM Report Share Posted November 12, 2017 at 02:35 AM I have a bamboo curtain breaker on my phone that lets me access western websites but when i use it many chinese sites are not available. When i turn it off, i can get to the Chinese sites but not western sites. Will a dual sim card phone give me access to both at the same time? 889 Posted November 12, 2017 at 04:06 AM Report Share Posted November 12, 2017 at 04:06 AM Check your phone. Many two-slot phones are set-up so that only one of the slots is for 3G/4G.
Pengyou Posted November 12, 2017 at 07:19 AM Author Report Share Posted November 12, 2017 at 07:19 AM Thanks! Will do. But if one slot is setup for 3g/4g and the other slot is set up for a slower standard...can I use the slower one for making phone calls and text chatting in China? 889 Posted November 12, 2017 at 08:32 AM Report Share Posted November 12, 2017 at 08:32 AM Again, all this depends on the phone. But if Slot 1, say, is for 3G/4G, then the SIM in Slot 2 can still be used for making calls, SMSing and browsing at 2G (EDGE) speed. Note that some phones, like my Redmi, take different size SIMs in Slots 1 and 2, so physically switching SIMs from time to time can be awkward.
