akdn Posted December 23, 2003 at 11:37 AM Report Posted December 23, 2003 at 11:37 AM I just upgraded Netscape, and now am unable to read Chinese emails in my Yahoo account. I tried updating the language settings in edit-preferences, and I also tried opening my account through Yahoo.cn. No change either way. What should I do? Thanks. Quote

Quest Posted December 23, 2003 at 11:54 AM Report Posted December 23, 2003 at 11:54 AM Changing your encoding might help? go to View -> Character Coding -> then either Chinese(big5/GB) or Unicode. Quote

akdn Posted December 23, 2003 at 12:24 PM Author Report Posted December 23, 2003 at 12:24 PM But I did lose my soul in the process. I opened up my MSN Explorer programme for the first time (tetsuo500 was right, by the way. It worked there). I don't know... the sacrifices we make learning this language. Quote
Quest Posted December 23, 2003 at 12:55 PM Report Posted December 23, 2003 at 12:55 PM I use IE everyday. It's just better, dont really care if it's made by M$ or AOL. Quote
pazu Posted December 23, 2003 at 06:12 PM Report Posted December 23, 2003 at 06:12 PM I'm using IE too, but I do like Netscape tab-browsing more. But I need to use the Google Toolbar very frequently (which is available for IE only),so I have no choice! Quote
Quest Posted December 24, 2003 at 06:21 AM Report Posted December 24, 2003 at 06:21 AM i use the google bar to block pop ups Quote
pazu Posted December 24, 2003 at 07:18 AM Report Posted December 24, 2003 at 07:18 AM There're some other programs to block popup ads but Google does it best so far. It's simple, easy to use, and block or unblock a site directly from a website. I've used Norton Internet Security before and it was totally crap. It's easy to block some sites, but it can be extremely difficult to determine what to unblock, which can be very bad for some sites. But indeed I used the searching functions almost all the time (oh, I don't browse much porn, so popup ads aren't a big problem to me ;) ), okay, normal sites pop too. have you guys ever tried the Google Deskbar (search on Google), it's another great service, but I just don't want to have too much of my Taskbar occupied.
