jamiesayssswhat Posted November 20, 2017 at 05:44 AM Report Posted November 20, 2017 at 05:44 AM I love the feel of these pants, but I can't tell what material they are made of in order to find similar ones in the US. Can anyone translate for me? Quote
jamiesayssswhat Posted November 20, 2017 at 04:17 PM Author Report Posted November 20, 2017 at 04:17 PM Edit: The second symbol of the first material appears to mean hemp, but I have not been able to find the first symbol. Similarly in the second material, I found the second symbol and a translation of gel or resin. So maybe it is 30% hemp? Quote

陳德聰 Posted November 21, 2017 at 04:03 AM Report Posted November 21, 2017 at 04:03 AM I think viscose is a type of rayon is it not? Quote
evn108 Posted November 21, 2017 at 09:49 PM Report Posted November 21, 2017 at 09:49 PM I have no idea! They're apparently related, but I've never seen Viscose used to refer to a fabric before. It might be a regional thing? Quote
Shelley Posted November 21, 2017 at 09:58 PM Report Posted November 21, 2017 at 09:58 PM "a viscous orange-brown solution obtained by treating cellulose with sodium hydroxide and carbon disulphide, used as the basis of manufacturing rayon fibre and transparent cellulose film. rayon fabric or fibre made from viscose." Quote from an online dictionary, I have heard it used a bit. Quote
Zeppa Posted November 22, 2017 at 10:11 AM Report Posted November 22, 2017 at 10:11 AM Viscose is totally common as a material. It is similar to natural fibres and indicates high quality. I don't know why people have never heard of it, but perhaps it is commoner for women's tops than men's trousers. I have just looked it up to see if it is called something different in the USA (I am in the UK), but I don't think so. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viscose Actually, it says here its use is declining. That was new to me. Quote
evn108 Posted November 23, 2017 at 06:11 PM Report Posted November 23, 2017 at 06:11 PM Huh, I guess I just never paid enough attention to clothing labels. Rayon is a familiar word to me, but I had never seen the word viscose before now. Quote
