When i asked why they told me the reason is written. I said i dont speak Mandarin and was told thats not their problem. Can someone translate and tell me why i was refused? Refusal.pdf Quote
陳德聰 Posted November 22, 2017 at 05:24 PM Report Posted November 22, 2017 at 05:24 PM It says 不受理 which simply means they’ve not accepted it for processing outright. I’m no visa expert but it seems kind of lazy to write “rejected” under “Other:______” and then tell you you need to figure it out yourself. 2 Quote

edelweis Posted November 22, 2017 at 05:41 PM Report Posted November 22, 2017 at 05:41 PM @sultan110 It's a bit of a random question, but have you been to Turkey recently? There are rumors about people being denied visas due to that. Quote
889 Posted November 22, 2017 at 06:00 PM Report Posted November 22, 2017 at 06:00 PM Have you been to China before? Or do you work in a media-related company? Were you born outside the U.K? Are you ethnic Chinese? (If not, it's odd they refused to translate the notice.) Were you applying for just a standard tourist visa, or a student visa, etc? Lots of ways an application can go off the tracks, but some more background would be helpful. (By the way, to my ear 不受理 doesn't sound like they formally rejected your application, but simply refused to accept it. The distinction is important: if your application has been formally rejected, then you need to disclose that on any future visa application.) Quote

I was flippant in calling this “rejected” in my comment re: clerk laziness. Quote
Zbigniew Posted November 22, 2017 at 06:38 PM Report Posted November 22, 2017 at 06:38 PM I don't know whether it will help you, but here's a site that contains some basic info on applying for a Chinese visa: http://www.visarite.com/china_visa_form_common_problem.htm If they continue to reject you, look on the bright side: there are a good many very knowledgeable "China hands" who are refused entry, and the number is on the increase. DavyJonesLocker Posted November 22, 2017 at 06:56 PM Report Posted November 22, 2017 at 06:56 PM Its too hard to know unless you give us more information. sometimes it just makes no sense whatsoever though, it could be down to a grumpy employee! Quote
Shelley Posted November 22, 2017 at 10:04 PM Report Posted November 22, 2017 at 10:04 PM Perhaps you should take the document to a visa centre/embassy or similar and get someone skilled in procuring visas for China, they may be able to tell where you went wrong. 1 Quote
