889 Posted December 3, 2017 at 05:52 PM Report Posted December 3, 2017 at 05:52 PM Not just country or continent. If you want to speak of people coming from all parts of the country, like China, you can say 来自全国各地. 1 Quote

I don't think this is how you want to say this. I'm actually not 100% sure what the correct way would be, but I would take a guess at 可以搭配. 3 hours ago, Davedd said: - 任何国家或大陆 - Rènhé guójiā huò dàlù - Any country or continent? I think 大陆 is generally just going to be interpreted as the Chinese mainland. Again, I'm not sure what the correct term would be, but I think it would be 洲 (or perhaps 大洲?). 1 Quote
陳德聰 Posted December 3, 2017 at 08:18 PM Report Posted December 3, 2017 at 08:18 PM *** 大陸 and 大洲 are both “continent,” but there are typically 6 大陸(包括亞歐大陸) and 7 大洲(包括歐洲和亞洲) If OP is trying to say “can work with,” then unfortunately 與X一起用 which is most straightforward does not lend itself to this type of list ordering. 1 Quote

Davedd Posted December 4, 2017 at 01:31 PM Author Report Posted December 4, 2017 at 01:31 PM Thanks! So if I want to make similar phrases, which are simply the following: - I am American - I am European - I am Brazilian - I am Chinese I have to add the "人- rén - correct? In this way it would be the following? 我是美国人 - Wǒ shì měiguó rén - I am American (I am United States people) 我是欧洲人 - Wǒ shì ōuzhōu rén - I am European (I am Europe people) 我是巴西人 - Wǒ shì Bāxī rén - I am Brazilian (I am Brazil people) 我是 中国人 - Wǒ shì zhōngguó rén - I am Chinese (I am China people) Quote

Davedd Posted December 4, 2017 at 03:53 PM Author Report Posted December 4, 2017 at 03:53 PM Wow, this language is easier than I thought. I hope you are correct Quote
889 Posted December 4, 2017 at 04:46 PM Report Posted December 4, 2017 at 04:46 PM Enjoy it while you can. Compared with most other languages, Chinese grammar and sentence structure are a breeze: Look Ma, No Conjugations! The main difficulty is the written form, of course. And speaking so that you can be understood. Spend two or three years studying Chinese and studying hard, only to find time and again that you get a blank puzzled stare in return whenever you try to speak it. You won't be thinking Chinese is so easy then. Quote
