fenlan Posted August 10, 2005 at 08:00 AM Report Posted August 10, 2005 at 08:00 AM I wonder in an Adobe Acrobat PDF if there is such a thing as a plug-in to annonate all characters with pinyin and/or translation? I am sure it could be done, but I don't know if it exists yet. Quote
roddy Posted August 10, 2005 at 10:22 AM Report Posted August 10, 2005 at 10:22 AM Unlikely. It would be possible, but you have to extract the text, mark it up and then format and reinsert it into the pdf. I'd guess you'll find life a lot easier if you find something that will let you extract the text, and then annotate the text Adso, or whatever. Roddy Quote
fenlan Posted August 10, 2005 at 12:38 PM Author Report Posted August 10, 2005 at 12:38 PM Can Adso handle hundreds of pages at once? I have been sent a PDF of Zhongguo Nongmin Diaocha, and I can get it out of PDF and into Word, but can I annotate 400 pages at once? Quote
trevelyan Posted August 12, 2005 at 05:04 AM Report Posted August 12, 2005 at 05:04 AM Yes... there's no limit in that sense. Mind you, it would be best if you downloaded the software rather than tried doing it online as your request would just time-out. I have an older windows binary dating back to March if you don't have access to Linux. Combined with an updated version of the database and the pinyin conversion should be fairly up to par. Quote
