艾墨本 Posted January 9, 2018 at 12:46 PM Report Posted January 9, 2018 at 12:46 PM There are all sorts of books and essays devoted to specific Chinese learners (say, a native japanese speaker learning Chinese) and the common mistakes they make for different patters. I find these helpful since they address the mistakes I actually make. Keyword to find these is "偏误" 1 Quote
889 Posted January 9, 2018 at 01:02 PM Report Posted January 9, 2018 at 01:02 PM Similarly, you can look for collections of 外国人的病句. Different approaches for different folks, but myself I try not to get lost in rules and grammatical terms. I'd suggest reading and reading and reading Chinese materials at your level and a bit above, absorbing rules natively. Parallel texts are convenient and time-saving. Obviously, don't do this to the exclusion of conversational practice, or you'll end up talking like a book. 1 Quote
JohnnyT Posted January 9, 2018 at 10:47 PM Report Posted January 9, 2018 at 10:47 PM Diagramming sentence structure is very helpful for students to learn grammar. It works in English and it works in Chinese. 1 Quote
Hofmann Posted January 9, 2018 at 11:07 PM Report Posted January 9, 2018 at 11:07 PM Students will learn grammar when it is necessary for communication. (And they communicate in order to accomplish tasks.) In cases where they still manage to get stuff done while holding onto distracting grammatical errors, it's their teacher's job to put them in a situation that makes these errors salient enough that they'll correct them. Here's an example. 2 Quote
