Hello,

I have been studying Mandarin at Confucius Institute for Business based at London School of Economics. I received this invite and was told it was okay to share here if anyone else might be interested to attend:

"

LSE Mandarin team has prepared a special talk this coming Friday afternoon. We invited a special guest speaker to talk about his successful Mandarin learning experience and job hunt stories in China.

Time: 16:00-17:30 Jan 26 2018 Venue: KSW.1.04

Come and join us to hear how he learned Chinese well and how speaking Chinese can help you look for job opportunities in China.  We sincerely hope the event will answer some of your questions and get you some ideas about the life and work in China.

If I lived in London I'd definitely go. I like Blair from 世界青年说 and the youtube channel he runs with 孟天。

Lol blair is a good friend of mine, didn't tell me about this! For those interested he's doing a round the world trip at the moment, posting on his weibo 英国布莱尔. His chinese is really great, and I knew him before his journey into chinese started, I can tell you, this guy worked (and still works) HARD on his chinese. We were room mates in 4th year of university, and he literally never stopped, his drive was so big it's what really pushed me to finally get my act together and start studying chinese too like I always used to tell him I wanted to.

How to be successful: work fucking hard.
